Dear Friends of the Charismatic Renewal.

Time certainly has a way of flying by. It’s May already.  We have planned a couple of events for you this summer.  One is a Healing Mass at Holy Trinity Parish, located at 13715 SW Walker Road, Beaverton, OR, with Auxillary Bishop Peter Smith celebrating.  The date is Saturday, July 29, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  So, there will be plenty of time for personal prayer.

The other is an Area Wide Prayer Meeting with lots of Praise and Worship music, some testimonies, prophecies (God Willing), and Ministry.  Christ the King Parish,  located at 7414 SE Michael Drive, Milwaukie, OR, will be hosting us on Saturday, September 30, 2023 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. We will begin with Holy Mass.  You can bring snacks if you wish. You won’t be able to eat in the church, but there will be breaks.

This year, the 17^th annual Rosary Bowl NW will be held at the East Salem Community Center on October 7, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  The event is free. The Community Center is conveniently located east of I-5 off the Market Street Exit, at 1850 45th Avenue NE, Salem, OR.

Dina Marie Hale hosts the Rosary Bowl every year.

We are talking to the folks at Encounter Ministries, who want to start a school in the Portland area this fall. We’ll help with advertising. The flyer on the right is for a short version of the actual school.   Ascension Parish, 743 SE 76^thAvenue, Portland, OR is sponsoring both activities.

Then, from November 30 to December 2, 2023, the Archdiocese of Portland is collaborating with the John Paul II Healing Center to offer a “Healing the Whole Person” conference, Thursday and Friday evenings and all-day Saturday; plus a separate-but-related workshop, “A Day of Equipping,” Friday morning and afternoon.

Fr. Chuck Wood, an Archdiocesan Liaison for the Charismatic Renewal, is on the Core Prayer-and-Planning Team for these events.  They will be at Our Lady of Lavang Parish, 11731 SE Stevens Road, Happy Valley, OR.

With the COVID-19 pandemic receding, it is time to update all of our activities and events.  Part of that is the need to upgrade our prayer group list for our website, woccr.org.  If you are a leader of a prayer group, would you email woccrs@gmail.com,  subject line:  PRAYER GROUP and let me know if your information is correct on the website’s “Events” page?  Click on your group’s name and the contact and other pertinent information will come up.  You can also add photo’s or text to better describe your prayer group.

Please let me know either way, with changes or no change.  That will save us a lot of time calling everyone.

Our webmaster is completely rewriting our site, upgrading, and adding new features. Right now, you can look at the old version, the new version is still a work in progress.  But I think you will feel the wait was worth it.

Our webmaster works tirelessly to keep our website up to date, working, and beautiful.  And he has never charged us a dime for his efforts.  Please keep him and his family in your prayers.

Be encouraged! COVID as an epidemic is over and we can finally come together as the family we are to celebrate Almighty God as one.
