Dear Friends of the Charismatic Renewal,

Because of the Pandemic, people are having to do things a little differently.  This can be a real gift, if you look at that way. For instance, many of our prayer groups are very small — too small really, to be able to conduct a Life in the Spirit (LIS) seminar without help.

Online Life in the Spirit Seminar

The Ark and the Dove Retreat Center (where the Catholic Charismatic Renewal began in 1967), is offering an online LIS for free, beginning May 24, 2020. It will not be lived streamed but recorded and put on their website (YouTube and Facebook). The website is: TheArkAndTheDoveWorldwide.org. It goes for seven days. Each session will be available at midnight Eastern time, so for us, anytime after 9:00 p.m, and will be available throughout the week. Presenters include: Jim Murphy (who presented at our 50th CCR celebration): Michele Moran; Patty Mansfield (one of the original members at the Ark and the Dove Weekend in 1967); and Dave Mangen (also one of the original participants). So this is an opportunity to listen to our grandparents as it were and international speakers.

Change in Plans

The WOCCR Service Team met last Friday, via Zoom and after discussion decided to cancel our first Healing Mass for the year on July 24, 2020. The Healing Mass at St. Patrick’s in Canby, OR is still on total lock down as that county has not started Phase One of the state’s opening plan.

We are tentatively planning to have a Healing Mass at St. Anthony’s in Tigard, OR on September 25, 2020 and a Day of Renewal on October 10, 2020. But it really depends on the pandemic and your safety.
