Come, Let Us Drink of One Spirit! “For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body … and we were all given to drink of one Spirit.” (1 Corinthians 12:13) In the world, in the Church, and in the Renewal, we are parched. We long for our thirst to meet Jesus’ thirst … we long to be satisfied. “As the deer longs for streams of water, so I long for you, O God.” (Psalm 42:1)
CHARIS sponsors a special opportunity to be formed in spirit and in truth with the most outstanding preachers of the Integral Formation Program, followed by thousands of people in more than 100 countries. The Archdiocese of Portland is collaborating with the John Paul II Healing Center to offer a “Healing the Whole Person” conference, Thursday and Friday evenings and all-day Saturday. Fr. Chuck Wood, the Archdiocesan Liaison for Charismatic Renewal, is on the Core "Prayer and Planning" Team for these events.
The Advent season is a time of preparation that directs our hearts and minds to Christ’s second coming at the end of time and to the anniversary of Our Lord’s birth on Christmas. From the earliest days of the Church, people have been fascinated by Jesus’ promise to come back. But the scripture readings during Advent tell us not to waste our time with predictions. Advent is not about speculation. Our Advent readings call us to be alert and ready, not weighted down and distracted by the cares of this world (Luke 21:34-36).

He is an experienced retreat master, director, and speaker.
