Reminder about the dates for a Retreat with Dr. Mary Healy; a Day of Renewal with Fr. Timothy Furlow & Dr. Lynne Bissonette-Pitre.

Dr. Mary Healy

Dr. Mary Healy will conduct an all-day (8 am – 4 pm) retreat at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 2450 NE 27th St, Bend, OR 97701.

Theme: Encountering Jesus: A Call to Holiness, Healing, and Mission.

Dr. Healy is a Catholic theologian and an international speaker. She teaches sacred scripture at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit, Michigan. Her main interests include faith healing, evangelization, and Catholic spirituality.   Dr. Healy was one of the first women appointed by Pope Francis in 2014 to the Pontifical Biblical Commission.

Deacon Steve McGlone, who is part of the planning committee at the parish, is asking us to join his prayer team and pray for this event from today until September 21st. Please join in this effort. You don’t have to respond to them or me — just pray.

Registration is officially open now for this Dr. Mary Healy event, and we want to spread the news far and wide so as many as possible have the opportunity to attend this exciting event!

WOCCR is inviting you to Our Lady of the Lake Church, Parish Center, in Lake Oswego, OR. The time is 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 .pm.  There will be snacks, coffee, tea, water for your convenience. We will not be serving lunch so bring something for yourself. Fr. Furlow will begin the morning session after praise and worship. Presentations will be about 35 minutes each with two in the morning and two in the afternoon.

Theme: Spiritual Warfare. 

Fr. Furlow and Dr. Lynne Bissonette-Pitre will help us understand what Spiritual Warfare really is and how we as the Charismatic Renewal fit in. 

Fr. Tim Furlow

Fr. Furlow was born in 1982 and attended the University of Steubenville, Steubenville, OH from 2004 – 2007. During those years he was part of the core team of their prayer group. Fr. Furlow was Ordained in 2015, he has served as Parochial Vicar at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Portland, OR and as Administrator and now Pastor at St. Patrick’s Parish, in Portland.

Dr. Lynne Bissonnette-Pitre

Dr. Lynne Bissonnette-Pitre is a psychiatrist, musician, and iconographer. She has lectured nationally, led retreats and has been organizing the Sacred Liturgy Conferences in Southern California since 2013. She currently serves on the Holy Alliance, a ministry which advises the U.S. Catholic Bishops on issues related to mental health, in partnership with the Catholic Medical Association. She teaches classes on sacred scripture, iconography, and Gregorian Chant and is a Dame Grand Cross of the Knights and Dames of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem.

WOCCR is planning a Healing Mass for some time in late August or early September. More information will be posted as it is available.
